Stallions gallop ahead!
Stallions gallop ahead!
A promising first half for Bo'ness United, straight out the blocks they had energy and ideas, exciting to watch, looking dangerous, some missed chances they would later rue. The best of the chances being Kieran Mitchell clean through, he tried to lob the keeper with a half volley only to see the ball float over the bar.
Second half Colts had sussed Bo'ness and played accordingly, cutting out all routes, they took over the game. Colts other strength was being clinical infront of goal, Musa dealt well but a finish in off the post and another goal he could do nothing about, saw United down 2-0.
Last 15 minutes or so Bo'ness managed to come more into game and with a penalty awarded on 88 mins they slotted home via Ryan Porteous bringing them back inti it, a free kick almost drawing them level, but it wasn't to be.
Two very evenly matched teams, in a tight game, a draw would have been a fair result, but the colts march ahead, creating a little distance in 2nd place.
The League title definitely out of reach realistically for United now, but a high finish to secure entry to next years SPFL Trust trophy still there to fight for ⚽️🤘💙
Another strong and attacking line up put out for United as they fielded the same team that defeated Gretna mid week.
